One-off transfers and payments
  • Make transfers between your own accounts for FREE by:
    • By making a request to the cashier at any branch (you must have your account numbers at hand)
    • By sending us a letter bearing the signature of the account holders as per the account mandate, instructing us which account to debit and credit, and the amount
    • Through Internet banking (registration required)
    • Through telephone banking (registration required)

Transfer funds to third-party Barclays account:

  • Through Internet banking (registration required) for free

Make payments to other local banks:

  • By completing the relevant form and dropping this at any branch, charged at SCR35 per transfer
  • Through Internet banking (registration required), charged at SCR25 per transfer

Make payments to international banks through SWIFT transfers:

  • By completing the relevant form and dropping this at any branch
  • Through Internet banking (registration required)
  • The charge for an international transfer is 0.25% of the amount being transferred, where a minimum of SCR150 and maximum of SCR500 apply. If you choose to bear all charges, you will be charged an additional USD25 as a flat fee for the correspondent charge. A request for same day value will be charged at SCR75. Note that any forms received after the 12:00pm cut off time may be processed the next working day
  • If you choose to share the charges with the beneficiary, you will not be charged the correspondent fee, which shall be borne by the beneficiary. If you choose for the beneficiary to bear all charges, the local charges will be deducted from the amount being transferred
  • Please ensure that when you are completing your transfer form you provide the correct beneficiary banking details of the beneficiary and any preferred intermediary bank. Further, ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account so that your request is not denied

Recurring transfers and payments

If you need to transfer or pay the same amount of money into the same account every month, for your peace of mind that the payment will be taken care of, you can set up a recurring transfer through a Standing Order Instruction. Whether you are transferring funds into your own account, to a third-party Barclays account, to a local or international bank, you simply complete the relevant form and hand this in at your nearest branch.

Please ensure that you bring the form at least by 12.00pm, three working days before the date of the first payment to avoid missing this payment. Else we will set the first payment to be debited on the next possible working day.

The charges for setting up a recurring instruction are:

  • Between your own accounts and for loan repayment: FREE of charge
  • For any other purpose: SCR25

We will not charge you for amending or cancelling your recurring payment.

The recurring charge will be dependent on the destination of the funds being transferred:

  • To another of your own account: FREE of charge
  • To a third-party account in Barclays: SCR25
  • To another local bank: SCR35
  • To an international bank: SCR0.25% of the amount being transferred, with a minimum of SCR150 and maximum of SCR500 being applicable plus SCR75 if same day value was requested in addition to a correspondent charge of USD25 if you choose to bear all charges.
